Monito is two months old today. He has “settled” as they say, and now we know what to expect, at least most of the time. He’s still a very easy going baby; he mostly only cries when he’s tired or hungry. He can already put himself to sleep but only manages it during the day–at night he’s a bit too fussy and likes to be walked (in circles) to sleep. When he’s fussy he nuzzles strongly into my shoulder, knocking his head all over the place as he tries to get comfortable. He LOVES staring at the black and white rectangles of the Japanese screen between our living and bedroom. He has also just discovered the little animals hanging from the bar on his bouncy chair and is very enthralled by them. He smiles easily and gurgles and coos constantly; I think he’ll be laughing before I take his three month picture. He’s a strong boy and can hold his head up very steadily–we hardly keep our hand behind it anymore.
At his two month visit Monito weighed 12 pounds, 7 ounces and was 23 inches long. He’s in the 57th percentile for weight and height but his big noggin is still in the 95th. We use cloth diapers but I keep some disposables around for emergencies and I just bought him size 2s. He’s wearing 3-6 months clothes is almost everything now.
Monito is a wonderful baby and our live is so much fuller with him in it. Not a day goes by that I don’t marvel and his being here. I am so incredibly grateful.
